How to Care for You Hijab
Something you will learn very quickly when caring for your scarfs:
DO'S
- use a good quality iron, we like the Rowenta brand
- use a low setting on your iron, until you can test the fabric how much heat it can take
- use a mesh bag to wash your scarf's or accessories that have embelishments, depending on the embelishment if it is ironed on, glued on, or sewed on, take measures to care for it seperate
- wash whites seperately in order to avoid a darkened colored shade of white
DONT'S
- iron your chiffon at a high temp, same goes for silk or light weight fabric
- pull any threads or tags...EVER. Use sissors- it only takes a few moments to do it correctly
WASH AND DRY
Cotton and polyester (chiffon) minus any embellishments that are sewn on are usually washer and dryer safe.
All of our cotton/poly amira hijabs, and underscarfs are washer friendly and dryer safe. You may want to hang dry, some brands may shrink in the hot dryer.
Because of the poly blend the color will not fade or bleed into your other clothing, if you wash them together. You will find that most hijabs are perfect for this reason.
